Trump Tweets That Probe Should End Following Firing of FBI Agent Peter Strzok

by Bailey Vogt,

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the “illegal Rigged Witch Hunt” Russia probe should be disembarked now that former FBI Agent Peter Strzok has been fired.
The president took to Twitter to lament that the reason the special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible collusion with Russia exists is due to Strzok.
He posted a tweet with the same general ideas nine minutes later.

Strzok was fired on Friday following politically charged text messages that disparaged the president and came under fire from Republicans in June.
Strzok, who was working on the Russian probe case at the time, “cast a cloud” over the investigation after texting FBI colleague and mistress Lisa Page that “We’ll stop” President Trump from winning the 2016 election. His lawyer said that his texts are protected speech under the First Amendment.
Donald Trump also took a shot at Jeff Sessions while quoting a guest on “Fox & Friends” who claimed the FBI was protecting Hillary Clinton.

Strzok is the third high ranking FBI official to be fired from the Bureau, following Andrew McCabe in March and James Comey in May of 2017. Both have said they were fired due to being crucial witnesses into Trump possible obstruction in the Russia probe investigation.
Despite the public backlash, however, Strzok appeared to find plenty of support just hours after news of his firing. In a tweet on Monday, he tweeted a statement and link to a GoFundMe page, which has now raised $300,000.
